The Kenya Travel Industry Business Awards (KeTIBA) are annual awards organized by the Kenya Association of Travel Agents (KATA) to recognize and celebrate
excellence in the Kenyan travel industry. These peer to peer awards honor travel agents and industry suppliers who demonstrate innovation, customer service excellence, and contribute significantly to the industry.
All verified KATA members and industry partners such as airlines, hotels, technology providers, insurance companies among others.
The KeTIBA Awards has 3 main categories which include:
- Best Travel Agency Awards (e.g., Best TMC, Best Mid-size Travel Agency, Best Small Travel Agency)
- Best Travel Industry Suppliers (e.g., Best International Airline, Best Business Hotel, Best Safari Lodge)
- Individual Awards (e.g., Lifetime Achievement Award, Best Travel Consultant)
All KATA members in good standing and selected industry suppliers qualify as nominees for awards and are eligible for voting and being voted for by peers through the online portal on the KeTIBA website.
The selection process is peer-reviewed:
- Travel Agencies nominate their preferred industry suppliers (hotels, airlines, etc.).
- Industry Suppliers nominate their preferred travel agencies.
- Nominations are made through an online portal, and an audit firm verifies all nominations to ensure eligibility and compliance.
Participants are invited to select and vote for their preferred nominees in each
category based on performance indicators like service quality, customer satisfaction, innovation, and overall industry impact. This being a peer to peer award, the voting happens as follows:
- Travel Agencies vote for their preferred industry suppliers (hotels, airlines,
etc.). - Industry Suppliers vote for their preferred travel agencies and travel
consultant.
A nominee that receives the most votes in each category is declared a winner.
The 2024 KeTIBA Awards Gala will be held on December 11, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM at the Safari Park Hotel and Casino, Thika Road. The theme for this year’s event is "Celebrating Excellence and Elevating Standards in Travel." Join us to honor exceptional contributions within the travel industry.
Charges:
Dress Code: Black with a touch of Gold
- KATA Members: Kshs. 7,500 per person | Kshs. 70,000 for a table of 10
- Non-KATA Members: Kshs. 10,000 per person | Kshs. 90,000 for a table of 10

Winners are selected based on key performance indicators such as:
- Quality of Service
- Customer Satisfaction
- Creativity and Innovation
- Contribution to the growth of the travel industry in Kenya
An independent audit firm Ronalds LLP will oversee and verify the entire selection
process to ensure transparency, fairness, and compliance with the award guidelines.
Yes, participants can sponsor the KeTIBA Awards. While sponsorship opportunities are open to all interested businesses, including participants, we ensure impartiality by maintaining a transparent nomination and selection process supervised by an
independent audit firm. Sponsorship options are also available for non-participating businesses, organizations, and government agencies, providing a variety of ways to support and engage with the event.
The winners of the KeTIBA Awards will be announced at the KeTIBA Gala Night, scheduled for December 11, 2024, at a premier venue in Nairobi.
Winners receive a trophy and a certificate of excellence, as well as increased visibility, enhanced credibility, and recognition for their contributions to the industry. This recognition also sets a standard for best practices, encouraging continuous improvement across the sector.
